Privacy Policy for SolveGate

SolveGate (“we,” “our,” or “the App”) is committed to protecting the privacy of our users, especially children. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use SolveGate.

1. Children’s Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

SolveGate is designed for parents to manage their children’s screen time. We comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

We do NOT collect any personally identifiable information (PII) from children.
We do NOT require a child to provide any personal information to use the app.

2. Information Collection and Use

SolveGate operates primarily as a local tool. We do not have a server, and we do not transmit your data to any external parties.

A. Locally Stored Data

All data created within the app is stored locally on your device’s secure storage. This includes:

Math challenge progress and scores.
Parent-defined screen time limits and PIN codes.
Child profile nicknames (stored only on the device).

B. Permissions and Their Purpose

To provide its core functionality, SolveGate requires specific Android permissions. We use these only for the following reasons:

Usage Stats (PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS): Used strictly to monitor how much time is spent in other applications to enforce screen time limits. We do not track or record your browsing history or specific app activities.
System Overlay (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW): Used to display the “Math Lock” screen when the daily time limit has been reached.
Billing Service: Used to process the “Ad-Free” in-app purchase via Google Play.

We do not sell, trade, or share any user data with third parties.

Google Play Services: The app uses Google Play Services for in-app purchases (Billing). Google may collect information as part of the transaction process. Please refer to Google’s Privacy Policy.

4. Advertisements

The free version of SolveGate may display banner advertisements. These ads are served by third-party providers. We ensure that ads shown are appropriate for all ages. Users can remove advertisements permanently via a one-time in-app purchase.

5. Security

The security of your data is important to us. Because all data is stored locally on your device, it is protected by your device’s built-in security features. We recommend setting a strong Parent PIN within the app to prevent unauthorized changes to settings.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Last Updated” date.
